Christmas time gifts

Yup, it's that time, I am working on my holiday gifts for this year. I have a pretty long list (as usual) so I hope I get half of them made! Is everyone else like that or am I the only one?!? I started working on these little stars made out of heavy cardboard and coated paper, to make them either into ornaments or to use on something else I make, like to decorate a box or a cone. I am adding little gems, seed beads and rhinestones, and little crystal heart dangles from the bottom. They are turning out so cute, but I don't have them ready yet, there are several steps, but as soon as I do, I will post some photos. And I have about 15 other projects going at the same time, you know how it is. You have to have several projects going at once, because there are steps involved and if you only worked on one project at a time you would never get anything finished! So as I am working and finishing I will be posting photos for you to see. I hope everyone has a lovely "crafting" day!

Hi all, on Monday I went to Hobby Lobby, yes, we had a new store open in our area this spring and it is wonderful. They had boas half-price so I stocked up on some for decorating during the holiday. I have been spending some time figuring out this wonderful world of blogging, and I still need to spend more time on this, but I am going to give adding photos a try...I hope it works!!...here goes. Here are some images of new pretties that I purchased week before last at a great estate sale, so many wonderful things I can't remember them all...but the best was something I have been looking for off and on for a long time...a vintage trophy cup...I found one at this sale and I am in love. It is from a bowling tournament in 1903 and it is in PERFECT condition, no dents, chips or anything. I haven't cleaned it up yet, or I may leave it as is, I have to do some research on that, or if you any suggestions please share with me.

Hatbox, 50's patterns, pink lace gloves etc...

Lovely white nightgown with aqua trim

Girl with rabbit old A&P poster

Hangers, old clothespins

Great 1950'2 patterns

Pink jewelry box, pearl collars, black sequin collars (3) and rhinestones

Better photo of the pearl collars

And even more collars!!

Well that's it for today. I hope you enjoy the photos. Have a great day!

Trolling for Treasures

Good morning! Had a wonderful weekend, that started on Friday with 3 sales to go to. The first was a garage sale, they had already had 3 sales prior to this so there really wasn't anything left that I wanted. The second was an estate sale, unfortunately I couldn't find a single thing that I wanted so I went onto the 3rd estate sale. This one had gorgeous furniture, priced a bit high, but her sales are always that way, and many other things but, again, nothing I couldn't live without. I didn't want to go home empty handed so I bought an old drum lampshade that was in perfect shape to take apart and redecorate! Disappointed I didn't find more I headed home. On Saturday, went to Syracuse for a large antique show at the State Fair Grounds. There were many lovely things, and we had a great time. I did find some great rhinestones, very reasonably priced and I was really happy. I am looking for a pink 50's prom dress, there was a yellow one, in great shape for only $29.00 but I didn't buy it, I will hold out for the one I want. Sunday was spent cleaning and putting garden decor away for the winter, and that is it...oh and the Yankees won Sunday night...hooray...now onto the series!! I will be taking photos of the bling and post it along with another estate sale that I went to the previous week that yielded a bounty of goodies to share.  Please bear with me as I figure out how to do that! Have a wonderful day!

After reading so many wonderfully inspiring blogs, I took the plunge and started one myself. I am excited to get going and share with you ideas for creating fun things for your home and friends. So give me a bit of time to figure things out such as adding flicker and photos to my posts. And if you have tips and techniques for this, please leave me a comment. I hope you all have a wonderful fall day.
